My fascination with psychology, hypnosis, beliefs, human behaviour and what makes people act in the ways that they do, began at the age of 15. Long before I ever took the courses to become qualified in the areas that I am now, I studied ardently in the field of personal change.
Aged just 16, having once been a very promising and talented championship athlete, my life became a slow decline into worsening health, anxiety and depression. In my 20’s I endured 4 years of Counselling, which I’d sought to help support me in living with M.E/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia after contracting Glandula Fever (from the Epstein-Barr virus). I even studied and qualified in it, before I began to realise that for me it was akin to placing a sticking plaster over the wounds albeit comforting and enlightening to discover why I was feeling the way that I was.
During that time, unconsciously very little improvement actually occurred and nothing had progressed particularly in my health, as the symptoms and emotional issues regarding everything in my life felt relatively unchanged. Eventually, the last Counsellor I ever saw ended my 2 years of therapy with her, telling me there was little else she could help me with and that our time together had come to an end as I was “just suffering from fear”.
I was told this having just turned 30 years of age with my health having reached its worst point in the summer of 2004. I had only recently been hospitalised and bed-bound for a month partially paralysed down the left hand side of my body with Reiter’s Syndrome and Iritis in my eyes along with other distressing Auto-Immune Disease symptoms. A few months after, I descended into chronic suicidal depression as a result which was deeper than ever before. To this day, I am still eternally grateful I miraculously survived a very conscious decision to end my life.

After resolving within that I wished to live, and somehow despite being told I would have some symptoms that I’d never recover from and have to adapt to live with, I decided I would do all I could to find a way out of my “disease” state and into a healthy body and mind. During the following year it became quite clear and necessary for me to completely re-evaluate my whole life and make a dedicated commitment to creating positive and permanent change in every possible area I could, so I slowly began to immerse myself in many hundreds of Personal Development CDs, DVDs, Videos, Tapes, Mp3’s and Books that I could lay my hands on.
The subjects and content varied from Hypnotherapy, Advanced Hypnosis Techniques, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Time-Line Therapy™, TFT (Thought Field Therapy), EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), Faster EFT™, Matrix Re-Imprinting, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), EMIT (Eye Movement Integration Therapy), Life Coaching, the Enneagram, Healing, Nutrition, Acupuncture, Inspiring Health Recovery Stories, Spirituality and The Law of Attraction to name but a few.
This included studying the works of Anthony Robbins, Dr. Richard Bandler, Paul McKenna, Dr. Roger Callahan, Gary Craig, Louise Hay, Michael J. Lincoln, Don Richard Riso, Russ Hudson, Helen Palmer, Dr. Robert Dilts, Danie Beaulieu, Dr. Denis Waitley, Connirae and Steve Andreas, Dr. Tad James, Karl Dawson, Alex Howard, Meir Schneider and Dermot O’Connor as well as many other leading authors in the field of Personal Transformation. I also attended countless courses and seminars up and down the country, before embarking on my own professional studies and personal Coaching and Therapy in EFT, NLP and Clinical Hypnotherapy.
As a result in the Spring of 2006, I became a client as well as a student at The Optimum Health Clinic in Harley Street, London for 18 months under the mentoring and tutorage of Alex Howard. There, I gained my qualifications as a Master Practitioner of NLP, Clinical Hypnotherapist, and also in EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and Life Coaching. On completion of my studies I was offered a position at the Clinic where I worked for over 6 months in 2007 assisting patients on their “90 Day Programme”, which focused on helping individuals in their recoveries from M.E/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Also whilst in London I furthered my training with Michael Breen, who is well known for his work with Dr. Richard Bandler (the co-founder of NLP) and Paul McKenna (Britain’s most well known Hypnotherapist). I have since been on the assisting team now twice to Paul McKenna when he held an event at Birmingham (see photos). I then continued my studies under EFT Master Karl Dawson, and am now an EFT Advanced Practitioner and Matrix Re-Imprinting Practitioner.
