Life is far too serious to be serious. The chaos, drama and stress of the world is really enough to make you go insane most of the time and guess what, most people in the modern world are. I visited a Mayan village in December 2012, it was shut off from almost everywhere. The mother had brought up her 16 children living without any welfare benefits, modern medicine, electricity, supermarkets, vehicles, or any of the things we take for granted in our evolved civilisation. The forest was the supermarket, wild boars and other such creatures were hunted, edible vegetation was collected, there were 968 plants out in the forests that all had medicinal properties, here was the Pharmacy. They smiled, they laughed, they taught, they educated, they gave thanks… One ceremony which lasted a good fifteen minutes was incredibly hypnotic and it dawned on me, here I was sitting in their church – in the great outdoors of the Mexican jungle.

The more time that passed whilst I was there I became increasingly aware of just who was the evolved species of human here. Is being evolved about getting more stuff, finding peace through mind-numbing reality television, hard hitting news about issues that actually have no business being in my home since they occur millions of miles away and I can do nothing about it. Is being evolved about taking drugs recreationally in a variety of forms from cigarettes and alcohol to harder illegal substances or in sugar rich foods that decay and lack necessary vitamins and minerals. Is being evolved about taking medicines only produced by multi-trillion dollar corporations who are the only ones legally allowed to come up with “cures” which often have harmful side-effects and don’t address unconscious issues nor treat an individual in mind, body or spirit. The insanity of people’s lives is always based around fear and how someone particularly deals with that – in our modern worlds in this modern age, fear is rife and it is plentiful…

The only way I have learned to deal with it, is to not deal with it. It’s not mine TO deal with. My participation in this chaotic world can only be addressed internally and personally and I am only interested in playing. Working to fix it will never work. Everyone of us needs to take responsibility to create a better experience for us personally, which will in turn have a positive and impactive effect globally…

Being playful releases you from fear, being playful engages your creative side, being playful opens up your heart and gets you into being more loving. It has been said there are only two emotions. Fear and love. And that all of the other emotions fall in between those two polar opposites. If we weren’t afraid anymore and fear had been removed from our inner experience you would see the world and reality for what it really is – one great big adventure playground…

All liberation is found within and facilitated within. Leave the rest and play. Play until your heart’s content and then go and play some more. After all, life is far too serious not to be playful.
